According to the Sharpress news website, Ziad Hussein, the head of the Coordination Committee and Administration of Kirkuk International Airport, announced in a press conference that all necessary preparations have been made for the opening and operation of Kirkuk International Airport and the SWAT Rapid Reaction Force have taken over the security of the airport under the command of the Iraqi Interior Ministry.

He added that all international standards have been met at the airport and domestic and international flights will start at Kirkuk Airport in the near future.

Hussein also stated that the launch of activities and flights at Kirkuk International Airport will have a positive impact on the economic situation and business activities in the province.
