Ahmed Askari told a press conference that according to the Iraqi constitution the post belongs to the PUK and the party would never let other parties to have the post, Mawazin News reported.

He further reiterated that it is against the Iraqi constitution as it does not belong to other parties in Iraq,

It is worth mentioning that Kirkuk Turkman official, Hasan Toran, has demanded that a Turkman should be the governor of the Kurdish-majority disputed province.
