According to the Kurdistan 24 TV channel, the Kurdistan Minister of Peshmerga, Shoresh Ismaeil met with Colonel Juliat, the Commander-in-Chief of the US forces, and the accompanying delegation in the Kurdistan Region, on Tuesday, November 26.
During the meeting, the issue of US military cooperation with the Kurdistan Peshmerga Forces was discussed, and Colonel Juliat stated that the second round of US military and logistical cooperation will be presented to the Peshmerga Ministry brigades of 14 and 16 at the beginning of next month.
The Minister of Peshmerga, while appreciating this cooperation, stressed that these ties will lead to further development of the Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan Region and appreciated the US support in strengthening the Peshmerga forces.
The Commander-in-Chief of US forces in the Kurdistan Region also stressed the need for continued US cooperation with the Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Region and said that the United States and coalition forces want to strengthen the Peshmerga force to clear the region of terrorism.
During the meeting, relations between Erbil and Baghdad and the establishment of a joint coordination center between the Iraqi Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Peshmerga of the Kurdistan Region were discussed.
