Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Syria Ambassadors meet in Muscat

The Iraqi Ambassador to Oman, Qais al-Amiri, hosted a meeting attended by the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Iran and Syria to Oman, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Embassy in Oman.

Al-Amiri was honored to host the Saudi Ambassador to Oman, Abdullah Al-Anzi, the Iranian Ambassador to Oman, Ali Najafi, and the Syrian Ambassador to Oman, Idris Maya, the statement mentioned.
The Iraqi Embassy added that the ambassadors exchanged views on regional issues in an atmosphere of optimism in the holy month of Ramadan.
Najafi stated that all this would not have been possible without the Omani efforts, and the efforts of Baghdad, which was keen throughout the period of turmoil to facilitate the dialogue between parties in the region, the Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) reported.
The meeting, which is the first of its kind between the ambassadors of the four countries, is a result of the agreement reached between Saudi Arabia and Iran on March 10.
Saudi Arabia, Iran and China announced in a joint statement earlier the resumption of the diplomatic relations between Riyadh and Tehran, with Chinese mediation, and the reopening of embassies within two months.
The developments in the Saudi-Iranian relations follow seven years of severing the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
