Erdogan claims Turkey discovered oil field in strategic Kurdish region

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claimed to have discovered a new oil field with a production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day in Jodi Gabar Mountain in Sirnak Province in the Kurdistan region of Turkey. 

TRT announced in a report that Erdogan, speaking at the opening ceremony of several projects, including the Karapinar solar power plant and Bozkar Dam in Konya, announced that a new oil field with a production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day in Jodi Gabbar Mountain in Sirnak province of Turkey Kurdistan has been discovered.

Pointing out that Turkey no longer needs imports in the field of energy and will be an exporter in the future, Erdogan added: "At present, with the daily production of 180,000 barrels of oil, we are taking a big step in the field of energy production. We will be able to reach the daily production capacity of 100,000 barrels per day by drilling another 100 wells in the region, which we have discovered at a depth of 2,600 meters."
