IHEC says 95% of Iraq election ballots been counted

Iraq's Independent High Electoral Commission’s (IHEC) said on Saturday, October 16, that manual counting of ballots following the parliamentary election is 95 percent complete, bringing final results closer to being announced.

,IHEC Media Department staffer Imad Jamil said in a statement reported by state-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) that a total of 356 complaints have been lodged so far from both general voting on October 10 and special voting on October 8 combined.
He said that work on 85 percent of the complaints has already been completed and that the Commission will announce its findings later.
