According to Kurdpress, the Syrian Democratic Assembly (MSD) released an official statement and evaluated the process of release and exchange of prisoners in Suwayda province as a positive step and called for the extension of this experience to the whole of Syria, especially in the framework of relations between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian interim government.
According to Hawar News Agency, the media center of the Syrian Democratic Assembly announced in its statement that the process of release and exchange of prisoners, which was carried out in Suwayda province, has been completed under the supervision of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
According to published information, in this process, 86 prisoners were released, 61 of whom were civilians and returned to Sweida, and 25 others were transferred to Damascus. On the other hand, nearly 30 government-affiliated forces who were detained by local groups were also released.
The Syrian Democratic Assembly described this action as a practical sign of the possibility of achieving human achievements, despite the complexities of the Syrian crisis, and emphasized that dealing with sensitive cases, especially the issue of prisoners and detainees, can help reduce tensions and open trust-building paths.
It is stated in this statement that this achievement should not be limited to a one-time event, but should be spread throughout the geography of Syria; Especially in the context of relations between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the interim government. This parliament also called for the creation of transparent mechanisms to ensure the continuation of the release of prisoners and to prevent selective approaches or political exploitation of this case.
In the end, the Syrian Democratic Assembly emphasized that the case of prisoners should be considered as a national and urgent priority and a comprehensive and organized process for the exchange of prisoners should be started in all regions of Syria; An action that can bring Syrians closer together, strengthen national solidarity and provide a basis for a new stage of reconciliation and national participation.
