Turkey Requests Red Notice for Netanyahu

Turkey Service – Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek announced Ankara’s request to issue a red notice against Benjamin Netanyahu on charges of “genocide,” a move that comes as tensions between Turkey and Israel escalate after the attack on the Abu al-Dhuhur air base in Syria.

According to Kurdistan Press, tensions between the two countries have increased following Israel’s attack on the Abu al-Dhuhur air base in Syria’s Idlib province and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statements that the attack was a “message to Turkey.”Turkish Justice Minister Akin Görlek announced that a red notice has been requested for Netanyahu in the context of the legal proceedings related to the Israeli forces’ intervention against the Global Solidarity flotilla activists who were on their way to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Görlek said: “Within the framework of this case and based on the arrest warrants issued on July 14 against Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskowitz on charges of genocide, the Ministry of Justice has requested the Ministry of Interior to issue a red notice for their international prosecution. The relevant documents have also been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

Bahçeli calls for boycott of Israel

The government of Bahçeli, the head of the Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), also reacted to Netanyahu’s statements about sending a message to Turkey by attacking Syria and called on the international community to impose sanctions on the country to “neutralize Israel.”In a written statement, Bahçeli said: “The Israeli government’s aggressive and expansionist policy has become one of the most important security problems threatening the future of the entire region.”

Özel criticizes Netanyahu and Erdogan

Özgür Özel, head of the New Party, also criticized the Israeli Prime Minister’s statements, saying: “Netanyahu is trying to gain power for himself inside his country by engaging in a fabricated verbal conflict with Erdogan on the eve of the Israeli elections. We compete with each other inside; but if the murderous Israel wants to use us as a tool for its domestic policy, 87 million people will stand united against it.»

Ozel also addressed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying: "On the one hand, cooperating with Trump and accompanying the unconventional fantasies of his ambassador Tom Barak, and on the other hand, a fabricated verbal clash with Netanyahu, whom Trump calls a war hero, does not benefit this country. The dishonesty in everything that has happened is obvious."
