SOHR says Turkey has intensified drone strikes in Syrian Kurdish-controlled areas

In less than a month, more than 20 people have been killed and wounded by Turkish airstrikes in Syrian Kurdish-controlled areas, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported an unprecedented escalation of Turkish airstrikes and drone attacks in Syrian Kurdish-controlled areas. According to the report, the Turkish army has carried out six drone strikes against the positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Kurdish-controlled areas of Syria since early February this year. As a result of these attacks, 8 people been killed and 14 have been injured.

The London-based watchdog, which oversees the war in various parts of Syria, said some of those killed and wounded were civilians.

Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has called on the United Nations to put pressure on Turkey to end the drone strikes targeting civilians.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says such drone strikes by Turkey against the Syrian Kurds in less than a month are unprecedented.
