Media affiliated with the HPG, the military wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), announced on Sunday their guerrilla mobile teams had killed eight Turkish soldiers and destroyed the Turkish army's surveillance camera system.
A statement from the HPG also alleged the Turkish military was resorting to the use of prohibited weapons in its cross-border attacks on the group in the Kurdistan Region, claiming Turkey had used phosphorus bombs and prohibited chemical weapons.
The group’s statement added Turkey had bombed the HPG in the area 15 times with warplanes.
