“This phase requires the political sides to take united steps. Therefore, we must work together to reach a suitable solution with Baghdad,” Mahmood told the Kurdistan Democratic Party's (KDP) official media outlet.
He did not point to the time of such a meeting.
Also a member of the legal department of the Kurdistan Region Presidency, the official said that it is important for any negotiations to be conducted by a team that includes representatives from multiple parties.
He voiced hope that it would be possible for political forces and parties to come together under the auspices of the Region's presidency and thereby better serve the people.
The Gorran official stressed that “unfortunately, the [Region's] demands have not yet been met in Baghdad. There is a need for the political forces and parties to concentrate on their plans and work for the rights of the people of Kurdistan.”
