According to the Syrian official news agency (SANA), Assad met on Sunday evening with Jaberi Ansari and the two sides traded view on the latest developments in Syria and the region.

Assad appreciated Iran's efforts to establish a committee to review Syria's constitution despite all obstacles created by the countries sponsoring terrorism.

He further described as important efforts by friendly countries such as Iran and Russia to stop Western interference in his country's political process.

The Syrian president stressed that Syrian people should determine the country’s political process without any foreign interference.

Jaberi Ansari, for his side, provided information on preparations made for holding a meeting among Syria ceasefire guarantors scheduled for December 17 and 18 in Geneva.
