Turkish jets hit areas in Kurdistan Region

Turkish airstrikes on April 27 hit areas in Kurdistan Region under the pretext of the presence of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) bases in the region in the north of Iraq, according to Turkey Defense Ministry.

The Turkish jets destroyed weapon positions, shelters, and ammunition depots used by PKK militants in the Zap, Avaşin-Basyan and Sinat-Haftanin regions, the ministry said in a statement.

Turkey repeatedly conducts airstrikes in the Kurdish region and the strikes have led into casualties and damages which have been blamed by officials in the Kurdish region and the central government in Baghdad.
