Erbil’s help to Afrin cannot go beyond expressing support: official

<p style="text-align:left">A leading official of the Kurdistan Region local parliament stated that the region&amp;rsquo;s help to the Syrian Kurdish town of Afrin would be restricted to a common express of support, warning about political exploitation from Turkey attack on the city.

The deputy speaker of the parliament, Jaafar Imenki blamed the Movement for Change (Gorran) for boycotting Tuesday session of the parliament, warning about using the situation in Afrin for political ends.

He stated that crisis hit the cities of Duz Khormatu and Kirkuk and no demand was made for a parliament meeting, underscoring that the Kurdish region can do nothing for Afrin but expressing support.
