Ammunition depot catches fire in Dohuk

<p style="text-align: left;">An arms and ammunition depot caught fire in Duhok province, Kurdistan Region, on Tuesday, just a day after a fire broke out at a warehouse of arms and ammunition in Sulaimani.

According to NRT the fire had broken out at the Roj Peshmerga&rsquo;s warehouse of arms and ammunition in Aloka community in Duhok.

The reason behind the fire remained unclear.

Commander of Zeravani forces, brigadier Bahjat said in a press conference that they had launched an investigation into the incident and that damages of the fire were still unclear.

&ldquo;Civil Defense teams in Duhok reached to the area immediately and they controlled the fire,&rdquo; he added.

The incident came after a fire broke out at a weapon and ammunition warehouse of the Peshmerga forces in the Sulaimani&rsquo;s area of Tasluja on Monday night.

Four Peshmerga were wounded in the fire.

Earlier on June 30, a large explosion rocked a weapons depot where gunpowder is stored in the district of Bahirka in the province of Erbil.

The explosion was third of its kind in Erbil in less than two years. In August 2017, an explosion rocked an ammunition depot and weapons storage belonging to Zeravani forces, and a fire broke out last August in another arms depot near Erbil airport.
