The explosion was due to a bomb-laden vehicle which killed a SDF leader as well as ten SDF members and seven civilians were killed, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) told AFP.
There was a child among the casualties, it added.
Xinhua cited a source saying the car bomb went targeted the SDF units in the town of al-Bsaeera in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Islamic State (IS) militant group, in most cases, is responsible for such attacks.
The SDF is currently staging an offensive on the outskirts of Markada Town and the al-Baseera area.
Earlier on July 3 Enab Baladi reported that unknown gunman assassinated two Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) leaders in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
Syrian news outlets revealed that the SDF Leader Khalaf al-Khabeel was killed, along with one of his companions, in the area of al-Atal in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.
