Joe Biden holds phone call with Erdogan: White House

US President Joe Biden has held a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he reportedly prepares to recognize the Armenian genocide, the White House said Friday, April 23.

In a readout of the call, the White House did not mention the controversy, saying only that Biden urged a "constructive bilateral relationship with expanded areas of cooperation and effective management of disagreements."
The two leaders also agreed to meet one-on-one during the NATO summit in June.
