James Jeffrey, the U.S. special envoy for Syrian affairs, as well as the anti -IS coalition, announced his country will hold talks with Kurdish groups in Syria.
We're not going to stop, Jeffrey told CNN, adding that they are negotiating with various opposition groups in Syria, including groups affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces, as well as other Kurdish groups.
He stressed that the U.S. does not negotiate with Tahrir al-Sham, a terrorist group.
The United States currently is present in northeast Syria, and in the Tanaf region, and has no plans to leave Syria for the time being, he said about the presence of US forces in Syria.
