ENKS and PYNK would hold talks soon, official tells Kurdpress

A member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDPS) told Kurdpress that the two parties of the Syrian Democratic Union Parties (PYNK) and the Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) would soon resume peace talks that were halted months ago.

"The differences between the PKK [Kurdistan Workers' Party] and the Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) would affect the Kurdish inter-party talks, but this influence cannot change the US opinion as a guarantee for the outcome of the talks between the Syrian Kurdish movements."

Nafe Abdullah, a member of the Central Committee of the Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDPS), referred to the differences between the PKK and the KDP and their impact on the resumption of the negotiation process between the Kurdish parties in Syria, underlining that "these differences do not halt the negotiation process much in the presence of the United States as a guarantor of the negotiations."

He continued: "The United States has promised that negotiations will begin soon and that it will monitor the implementation process."

"In recent times, in addition to the American delegation, the PYNK has also met with a French delegation to start negotiations with the other side."

The KDPS official further said: "We hope the United States will put pressure on the Kurdish Patriotic Union Parties (PYNK) to adhere to the outcome of the negotiations."
