Turkey benefits from Kurdish intra-party differences: official

The head of the Syrian Kurdistan Liberal Union Party stated in an interview with Kurdpress that "Turkey's operations in the border areas of the Kurdistan Region is territory expansion no war with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)."

"Turkey is the enemy of the Kurds and fighting against the PKK is only excuse to attack Kurdish regions," Farhad Telo, leader of the Syrian Kurdistan Liberal Union Party said.

He continued to say that: "Erdogan is seeking expansion and the fact that he claims he is fighting 'terrorism' is only to legitimize his actions."

"Kurdish blocs are better not to think that Turkey is extending a hand of friendship to them. The Turkish authorities deny to mention the name of the Kurdistan region and call it northern Iraq," the official said.

Mr. Talo added: "Turkey's recent attacks on PKK positions are only aimed at increasing its influence in the Kurdistan region, and Turkey has ambitious dreams [in the region]."

"Erdogan and Turkey have occupied parts of Syrian Kurdistan today under the same pretext and their purpose is clear as they seek offensive and aggression," the official further said.
