<p style="text-align: left;">Professor Dlawer Ala'Aldeen believes that the Iraqi Kurdish leaders should not rush to make the Kurdish region independent from Iraq but to work to improve the situation in the region in the near future.

The Founder and Director of the Middle East Research Institute in Erbil, Dr. Ala'Aldeen described the current status of the Iraqi Kurds to achieve independence as unsuitable.

He told the daily European View that the Kurdistan Region leaders should focus on providing a better future for the region instead of hastening to declare independence.

Also the former Minister of Science and Research in the Kurdistan Regional Government, he further said the Kurds in Iraq have emphasized that they remain committed to staying inside a stable, prosperous and democratic Iraq.

Dr. Ala'Aldeen stressed that world powers and the international community are not ready to accept the independence of the Iraqi Kurds, and that even the Kurdish region is not prepared for the move.

The Founding President of the Middle East Research Institute in the Kurdish Region stressed that the Kurdish region can be independent even without a flag in the United Nations or separating from Iraq.
