“We, as Afrin displaced people, will either return to our land or will die in Shahba,” Sulaiman Jaafar told KurdPress.
The change in the population of Afrin is being implemented quickly by the Turkish army and jihadist groups affiliated with the country, and assaults, arrests, tortures and violations against women continue every day,” Jaafar told KurdPress about the latest situation in the Afrin region under the control of the Turkish military and jihadist groups.
He continued: "Around the area of Shahba, where there are 90,000 Afrin refugees in camps, there are a lot of problems such as the lack of medicine and flour. The Syrian government does not easily allow the import of goods and food and fuel, and Afrin refugees are under a devastating siege.”
Suleiman Jaafar added: “Turkey wants to take over Shahba as well as Afrin, and both Turkey and Russia are planning to occupy Sheba and they are threatening the refugees every day.”
The Chairman of the Joint Committee of Canton Affrin pointed out that "As Afrin refugees, who stay in Shahba, we have sworn to return with dignity to our land or die in Shahba.”
