Trump will host a visit of al-Kadhimi to the White House on August 20 to discuss challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic as well as security, energy and economic issues, the White House said in statement on Friday, August 7.
Al-Kadhimi took office in April, becoming the third Iraq head of state in a chaotic 10-week period that followed months of deadly protests in the country, which has been exhausted by decades of sanctions, war, corruption and economic challenges.
le='margin-bottom:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-align: justify;line-height:150%'>Mohammad Haji Mahmoud stressed that he does not oppose the visit of the region’s negotiating team to Baghdad, because any agreement is good in any case, but there is no fundamental solution to the Kurdish problem in Baghdad, and the Iraqi Kurds can reach an agreement with Baghdad when they separate this country.
He also accused the Iraqi central government of having problems with the Kurds and never being willing to solve them, yet the Kurds are defending their relations with Iraq.
