Iraq considers Saudi Arabia a real partner: PM al-Kadhimi

Al-Kadhimi met with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and his accompanying delegation at his office in Baghdad on Thursday, according to Middle East News.
In this meeting, bilateral relations and ways to expand its in all areas, as well as the latest developments in the region were examined.
Al-Kadhimi stressed that Saudi Arabia is a real partner for Iraq and that Iraq is trying to establish a special relationship with Saudi Arabia in line with the two countries' deep historical relations.
He also stressed on the importance of implementing the resolutions of the Iraq-Saudi Arabia Coordination Committee in order to ensure the interests of the two nations.
During the meeting, the Saudi Foreign Minister said that his country is seriously considering relations with Iraq and strengthening joint cooperation to implement the agreements signed between the two countries.
He added that Saudi Arabia is waiting for the Iraqi Prime Minister to visit Riyadh. The meeting also discussed economic cooperation and achieving a balance in oil production in a way that would reduce economic pressure on Iraq.
