According to Kurdpress, the massage from Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan region, states: today we commemorate the painful 38th anniversary of the 1988 ANFAL Camping, a horrific crime committed by the former Iraqi regime that killed more than 182,000people.

Anfal was not just a crime, but an attempt to completely destroy a peace-loving, the scars of which still remain on the body of our land.

We will continue our efforts at the international level to have Anfal recognized as genocide.

On this occasion, we emphasized that preserving the legal structure of the Kurdistan region and its achievements only possible through the solidarity and cooperation of all political currents and ethnic groups; this is the greatest loyalty to the blood of the martyrs and ensuring a better future for future generations.
