The results of the election had been delayed for two months, amid the Hashd al-Shaabi alliance’s accusations of fraud and calls for the election results to be canceled.
The ruling is considered a victory for populist Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr’s bloc, which won 73 seats in the Iraqi Parliament.
Sadr is against outside influence from both the US and Iran. There are also expectations he will form a coalition that may favor Kurdish and Sunni parties.
Fatah Alliance leader Hadi al-Amiri had submitted the appeal against election results. His coalition, which represents Hashd al-Shaabi, secured only 17 seats in parliament, down from 48 in the last elections.
