PYD denounces Turkey's genocidal attack in Kobani

The Democratic Union Party (PYD), the leading Kurdish party in Syria issued a statement condemning Turkey’s attacks on the city of Kobani, Firat News Agency (ANF) said on Sunday, January 9.

"The Turkish state and its mercenaries continue their genocidal attacks against the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria,” the PYD said in its statement, cited by ANF.
"The so-called guarantor powers such as Russia and the US do nothing to stop these attacks.”
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Saturday at least eleven civilians were injured and a village mayor was killed in "intensive bombardment” from Turkish rockets in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
The war monitor said a child lost his leg due to injuries sustained in the shelling.
The SOHR said Turkish missiles struck in the city of Kobani, as well as 15 villages and towns in Kobani district, as well as Tel Abyad, which is across the border from Akcakale, Turkey.
Rojava Information Center said on Saturday three locations in the center of Kobani city were attacked with rockets, injuring five civilians.
