There are more than 16,000 Kurdish citizens live in Canada, a significant number of whom have fled Iraq following the tragedies that befell them during Saddam Hussein's rule, according to New Canadian Media.

Kurdish citizens living in Canada have expressed concern over Turkey's domination of the Kurdish region and another tragedy for Iraqi Kurds, citing the expansion of Turkish military operations in the Kurdish region under the pretext of confronting the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

Some Kurdish citizens living in Canada have told the magazine that they expect the Canadian government to intervene to stop the Turkish attacks.

Noting that Canada has not recognized the Iraqi operation to exterminate Iraqi Kurds known as Anfal Operation as genocide, Kurdish citizens living in Canada, however, have expressed disappointment over Canada's possible attempt to halt Turkish military operations in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Kurds living in Canada have expressed concern that Turkish military operations in the Kurdish region could lead to the elimination of Kurds.

They also condemned the international community's silence on Turkey's attacks, calling them hypocritical.
