Turkish jets bomb areas in Qandil Mountains

<p style="text-align: left;">Turkish warplanes hit the foothills of the Qandil Mountains on Friday, August 17.

The fighter jets bombed the villages of Sargali and Bokriskan as well as the Qandil Mountains on Friday morning, NRT reported.

According to the report the casualties of the bombings remain unclear but the strikes damage the agricultural fields in the areas.

Turkish army has recently intensified airstrikes against suspected positions of the Kurdistan Workers&rsquo; Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region.

Turkey&rsquo;s warplanes conducted airstrikes in the district of Sinjar on Wednesday, killing a member of the Yazidi Society Coordination and a commander of the Sinjar Resistance Units (YBS), Ismail Ozden known as Mam Zaki Shangali.

The strikes just came one day after Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi visited Ankara, where he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
