Turkey-backed forces attack Syrian army, PKK in Tell Rifaat

Syria’s Turkey-backed opposition Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Monday evening launched an attack on forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the country’s government-controlled northern city of Tell Rifaat, Turkey pro-government Yeni Safak daily reported.

The FSA’s rocket attacks were aimed at emplacements belonging to the PKK and the Syrian government in Tell Rifaat, located to the east of Afrin and the north of Aleppo, Yeni Safak said, citing local sources which confirmed the Turkish Armed Forces supported the operation.
The attacks by the FSA arrive as Assad prepares for the invasion of Idlib, Syria's final rebel stronghold, sparking fears of a large humanitarian crisis.
