<p style="text-align: left;">Iranian Kurdish short film &amp;lsquo;Alan&amp;rsquo;, directed by Mostafa Gandomkar, won an award at the Eberswalde Film Festival in Germany.

&lsquo;Alan&rsquo; competed with 38 other short films from the US, Spain, France, Australia and China for the accolade, ifilmtv.ir reported.
The 20-minute flick narrates the story of a Kurdish family in Syria a day before the Islamic State (IS) attack turns their world upside down.
Gandomkar has had his films screened in a number of international festivals such as 39th Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and has won a number of awards, including the first prize at the 14th Constance Short Film event in Germany and the Golden Leaf for Best Kurdish Short Film at the Duhok festival last year.
Eberswalde festival is a small professional film festival close to Berlin, Germany.
The festival has five competition sections: Short feature film, animation film, documentary film, audience award short film, audience award documentary film.
