Head of Iraq chamber of commerce union, heads of chambers of commerce of Iraqi provinces, union of industries and investment committee of Iraq as well as a number of Iraqi businessmen and investors and representatives from Iranian companies active in Iraq attended the gathering on Saturday, which was coordinated by Iran's commercial consoling in Iraq, IRNA reported.
The people taking part in the gathering underlined the expansion of relations and the elimination of the existing obstacles.
Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masjedi also delivered a speech at the meeting and underlined the necessity to use the existing capacities to boost trade exchanges and investment between the two countries.
Iran has already declared to the Iraqi government that is ready to remove visa barriers, but the Iraqi government has not taken any decision as yet in this regard, he said.
Iran has established a free trade zone in Khorramshahr and Abadan area, which could prepare suitable grounds for investment of Iraqis.
Iran's commercial attaché Nasser Behzad told IRNA that following departure of Iraq from Chapter 7 of the UN Charter, this is the first gathering of Iranian and Iraqi businessmen and investors in the venue of Iran's embassy in Baghdad.
Trade exchange volume between Iran and Iraq is around 8 billion dollars annually.
