The Security Council of Kurdistan Region warned in a statement that the army of Iraq is preparing to attack the region and has made military movements in this regard.

Reacting to the statement, the spokesman of the Iraqi army denied in an interview with Reuters that the army is not in any way planning to attack the region.

The spokesman added that the goal of the army is to protect Iraq borders and will never attack the region.
