Party leader warns about Turkey interference in Kirkuk affairs

<p style="text-align: left;">A Turkmen party leader warned on Friday about Turkey interference in the affairs of the disputed Kurdish-majority province of Kirkuk in the north of Iraq.

Mehdi Hamid Oglu expressed his concern over Turkey interference in the oil-rich province and also warned the issues and problems of the province cannot be solved in Erbil, the capital of Kurdistan Region.

He added that it is unacceptable to see Kirkuk issues to be discussed and decided by Kurdish parties in Kurdistan Region and asked the central government in Baghdad to mediate in this regard.

The Turkmen official went on to add that Turkmen and Arab residents of the province do not go along with the Kurds over the issues of electing a governor for Kirkuk and the political situation in the province.
