Establishment of a quadrilateral treaty among Iran, Turkey, Russia and Azerbaijan for development of their information technology market were discussed during a meeting between Iran's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi and the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Mehmet Cahit Turhan.
According to IRNA the Iranian minister added Iran is interested in cooperation with Turkey in fields of tourism, health tourism and information technology.
“Turkey is Iran's gateway to Europe and Iran is Turkey's gateway to Asia, especially to Central Asia,” Turhan told a news conference in the capital Tehran.
He said talks between Turkish and Iranian delegations tackled new transport routes, according to Anadolu.
Underlining deep historical and cultural ties between Turkey and Iran, Turhan said that bilateral relations between Ankara and Tehran were expanding day by day as part of established bilateral and regional mechanisms.
The Turkish official stressed that cooperation between Turkey and Iran will contribute significantly to the prosperity and well-being of the region.
