Muslim’s is one of 144 red notices cancelled by Interpol for supsects in a deadly attack in the Turkish capital of Ankara in 2016, VoA said.

Muslim was detained in the Czech capital Prague in February 2018 at Turkey's request and released shortly thereafter.

Ankara has demanded the former PYD leader’s extradition over a case against him in connection to the 2016 attack, which left 37 people dead and dozens more injured.

The charges against Muslim include damaging national unity and integrity, deliberate murder, damaging public property and transferring dangerous materials.

Mahmut Vefa, a lawyer for one of the suspects in the case, told VoA that Interpol is no longer taking Turkey’s demands seriously and considers them to be “mostly baseless”.

Turkey demands red notices to be issued to almost every major political dissident or critic, disregarding the requirement for the demand to be based on international law, Vefa said.

“Turkey acts arbitrarily and with disregard for the law, and as a result the Interpol rejects most of Turkey’s demands,” he added. “This shows that international law and politics don’t consider most of those who Turkey considers terrorists as such.”
