Nechirvan Barzani asks for more anti-IS coalition role in Erbil-Baghdad dispute

<p style="text-align: left;">The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Nechirvan Barzani asks for better anti-IS coalition role in the dispute between the region and the central government of Iraq in Baghdad.

In a meeting with the chief of the coalition Bret MacGurk and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Daglas Soleiman on Wednesday, Barzani demanded better and more role of the coalition in the dispute between the two government of Erbil and Baghdad, the KRG official website reported.

MacGurek reiterated on U.S. support to serious talks between the two governments.

He also backed the political process in the Kurdish region as well as holding the local parliament elections in the region.

Qubad Talabani, the KRG Deputy PM, also participated in the gathering.

According to the report the U.S. delegation asked for the ties between Washington and Erbil to be continued.
