<p style="text-align: left;">Iran's consul general in Iraq's Kurdistan Region urged the officials of the region to take the issue of border markets seriously in order to stabilize the activities of the markets.

Referring to his visit to a border market in Iran's Sardasht and meeting local officials, Morteza Ebadi said on Sunday, &ldquo;improving the condition of the markets on the shared borders of Iran and Iraq requires serious efforts of the latter's Kurdistan Region in their talks with Baghdad.&rdquo;

The markets are a golden opportunity for the residents of the two border cities Sardasht and Qalat-Dizah, respectively in Iran and Iraq, both of which were affected by the war crimes of the former Iraqi regime of Ba'th Party.

According to IRNA he said: &ldquo;so that they will benefit from the blessings of border, peace and fraternity.&rdquo;

It will also be a good opportunity for the residents of the two border cities in line with economic relations promotion, he said.
