Cemil Bayik blames Russia for helping Turkey against Afrin

<p style="text-align:left">The Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Co- chair, Cemil Bayik, blames Russia for helping Turkey in an offensive against the Kurdish majority city of Afrin in Syria.

&ldquo; The relationship of Russia with Turkey is a paradox and contradictory,&rdquo; Bayik said in a statement.
According to NRT Bayik said Turkey seeks to align with Russia and continue its intervention in Syria which has brought insecurity and instability to the country.
&ldquo;Turkey is effectively carrying out ethnic cleansing with support of Russia against the Kurds,&rdquo; he added.
He likened Russia&rsquo;s role in the &ldquo;massacre and genocide&rdquo; of Kurds to the role of Germany in the Armenian genocide during the World War I.
Turkey launched the operation on January 20 against the Kurdish forces in Afrin, supporting Syrian opposition fighters with ground troops and air strikes.
Turkey-led forces last month seized control of the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northwestern Syria after a two-month assault that killed dozens of civilians and displaced tens of thousands of civilians.
