According to NRT a US delegation headed by Brett McGurk held talks with senior KRG officials on Tuesday night, April 17.
The meeting was held following the arrival of the delegation to the Kurdistan Region.
The US delegation, including US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Andrew Peek and US Ambassador to Baghdad Douglas Silliman, welcomed the steps led to resume talks between Erbil and Baghdad, KRG said in a statement.
The delegation also hoped the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad will hold more talks to reach a final solution to all the issues between them, according to the statement issued in Kurdish language.
KRG premier, for his part, restated dialogue is the “only solution” to tackle issues, expressing KRG’s readiness to hold talks and dialogue.
The US delegation also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, National Iraqi Alliance leader Ammar al- Hakim and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri in Baghdad, according to a tweet by McGurk.
