The event got underway with the attendance of Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi and Serbian Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljević.
According to IRNA the event in an area covering 130.000 square meters is hosting 2050 domestic and 132 foreign publishers.
Serbia as special guest, Tunis as special city and publishers of Germany, China, Italy, Oman, Hungary, Austria, Russia and Iraq have participated in the event.
Tehran International Book Fair will be open to the public from Wednesday, May 2, and runs until May 12.
