Trump’s decision a mistake, says Turkish official

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag on Wednesday described US exit from JCPOA as a mistake saying “We will witness the results of the wrong decision soon.”

Addressing a meeting of members of Turkish Independent Entrepreneurs Society, he added that Trumps’ yesterday statements were disappointing and his move was wrong, IRNA reported.

It seems that the US has worked out new plan regarding Iran, first stage of which was quitting JCPOA and reinstating sanctions, he said, noting that the next stages are not yet clear.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced the country’s withdrawal from the landmark international pact, a decision which drew fierce opposition from the EU, Britain, Germany and France, which are still committed to the JCPOA.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), known as the deal on Iran’s nuclear program, was signed between Iran and six international mediators (the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Russia, the United States, and France) on July 14, 2015. On January 16, 2016, the parties to the deal announced beginning of its implementation.
