The Press and Communications Center of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement on Friday saying shelters and tents where Turkish soldiers were stationed were targeted on Hill Lelikan in the Bradost region on Thursday morning.
“Nine emplacements of the enemy were destroyed,” the statement read.
According to NRT news website HPG added that nineteen Turkish soldiers were killed and eight others were wounded during the attack.
There was no immediate comment from Turkish army.
HPG said the wounded and bodies of the Turkish soldiers were retrieved by Sikorsky helicopters after Turkish jets and artillery shelled the area following the attack.
NRT reported on Thursday that clashes had broken out between HPG fighters and Turkish soldiers in the Kurdistan Region’s area of Bradost.
HPG has recently increased attacks on the units of the Turkish army which have been stationed inside the Kurdistan Region.
The Turkish army has entered 19 kilometers into the Kurdistan Region, local authorities said. Turkish military has also created three main headquarters and up to 14 small military bases inside the region.
