Kurdistan delegation reveals proposal to deliver region's oil to Baghdad

<p style="text-align: left;">Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) delegation negotiating with Baghdad revealed on Sunday a proposal to the federal government to hand over all the region's oil in exchange for paying the dues of the oil companies operating in the region.

The Minister of Planning, Dara Rashid, said in a press conference held after a meeting with the Presidency of the Region&rsquo;s Parliament that our efforts are continuing with Baghdad to reach a complete solution regarding the region&rsquo;s share of the budget.

We submitted a proposal to Baghdad to hand over the full Kurdistan oil in exchange for the federal government paying all the financial dues to the oil companies operating in the region, He added.

A delegation from the regional government visited on April 19 the federal capital Baghdad and held a series of negotiations on the share of Kurdistan Region in the budget in addition to forming the new Iraqi government headed by Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
