According to the information received, the committee for drafting the new Syrian constitution, which was established on the initiative of Moscow and with the support of Ankara, will meet in Geneva on August 24, 2020.
According to the Mezopotamya news agency, the meeting is attended by the UN Special Representative for Syria and chaired by Ahmad Kozbari, a member of the Constitutional Committee on behalf of the official Syrian government, and Hadi al-Bahra, a representative of the central government. The meeting is going to discuss the “national bases and rules.”
It should be noted that this meeting will take place without the invitation of any Kurdish representative. Discussing the national principles of the new Syrian constitution will take place without the presence of a representative from the Kurdish-controlled north and northeast self-ruling administration.
