"The reason for the US withdrawal from Afghanistan is still unknown. What is clear is that Afghanistan is in a bad situation and democracy did not work in the region, and government officials were no better than the Taliban," the Kurdish party Leader, Ferhad Tello told Kurdpress, adding that the Americans spent billions of dollars in Afghanistan, and several thousand American soldiers were killed in this 20-year war. The US governments were also forced to leave each country according to their own schedule. Under [former US President Barack] Obama, some US troops withdrew from Iraq and under [former US President Donald] Trump, some other US troops withdrew from northern Syria, and today Biden has withdrawn all US troops from Afghanistan."
He continued: "But the situation in the north and east of Syria is different from Afghanistan, and different nations live in a democratic system with Kurdish leadership, and whether the United States currently has a plan to leave the region or not is still unclear, because not only Syria, but also Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Jordan, and the Middle East in general are in a difficult situation.
He added: "On the other hand, Erdogan and Turkey are looking to take advantage of the situation in Afghanistan. On the one hand, he [Erdogan] says that Syrian and Afghan immigrants have become a scourge on Turkey, but on the other hand, he wants to influence European and even China by the immigrants."
"The Kurds have not learned from history. Today, Western governments are helping and protecting us, but we claim to be fighting capitalism while all the West and China as well as Russia and other countries are in the process of capitalism," added the Kurdish leader.
