New wave of protests hits Baghdad, other Iraqi cities

<p style="text-align:left">Iraqis resumed protests against shortages of jobs and basic services in Baghdad, Najaf and Nasiriyah on Friday, July 27.

According to NRT protesters gathered in Baghdad&rsquo;s Tahrir Square.
According to the reporter protesters in the cities called for the annulment of the provincial council, the dismissal of the governor and the formation of a government which is not sectarian and political.
Hundreds of people have taken to the streets in Iraq&rsquo;s southern cities over the last three weeks in protest of shortages of jobs, water, electricity, and basic services.
