KRG delegation in Baghdad to discuss Kirkuk-Erbil road

<p style="text-align: left;">A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) traveled to Baghdad on Saturday, July 28, for talks with Iraqi officials about opening the Kirkuk-Erbil road.

The KRG delegation will negotiate the issue with Iraqi government officials on Sunday, July 29, a member of the delegation and chief of the Erbil police, Abdulkhaliq Talaat, told NRT.

He said both sides have already come to an agreement regarding logistics and a budget to reopen the road. &ldquo;What now remains is only how the checkpoints will be run and this will be sorted out tomorrow [Sunday].&rdquo;

The KRG delegation includes representatives from the Kurdistan Region&rsquo;s Ministry of Interior, Peshmerga Ministry, and the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction. The KRG office in Baghdad will supervise the meetings.
