Professor Henry Barkey, a researcher at the Council on Foreign Relations think tank, believes that the Democratic administration led by Joe Biden will support the Syrian Kurds more than the current Republican administration led by Donald Trump.
In an article published in the Asia Times, he referred to the important issues and challenges facing Joe Biden as the new US President, including the future of US relations with Turkey and the Kurdish issue.
Henry Barkey believes that the Kurdish issue could lead to more tensions between the United States and Turkey, as Joe Biden has publicly called for an improvement in Turkey's treatment of its Kurds.
He stressed, given that the ISIS remains a serious threat, the Biden government will provide more support to the Syrian Kurds.
