Ghiyas Sorchi said in an interview with Al-Malouma news agency: "Unfortunately, we hoped and expected that the differences between the two Kurdistan parties would be resolved in the holy month of Ramadan, not only this did not happen, but also the disputes and the exchange of media accusations between the two parties increased."
Sorchi added: Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Qabad Talabani and the ministers of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the regional Cabinet were ready on the verge of accepting to return to Erbil and resolving the differences between the two parties but Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, and his accusations against the PUK, prevented Talabani and these ministers from returning to Erbil.
He emphasized that the differences between the two Kurdistan parties are still deep and there is no sign of any resumption of ties between these two sides.
It should be mentioned that during his speeches, PM Barzani accused parties in the Kurdistan parties, including the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, of mercenary and said that the Kurdistan Regional Government will not cooperate with them and will not reach an understanding with them.
A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) accused rival the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) of reviving the differences between the Kurds through Masrour Barzani's statements.
